First day - Thursday 22nd May 2014
The meeting of the project partners is held in the Classic Hotel, Nicosia
The representatives of Cyprus warmly welcome all partners. Then all the members of this meeting introduce themselves.
- Short presentation of the meeting programme
Coordinator Barbara Wiesen made a short presentation of the meeting program for all the meeting days, everyone agrees with it. Participants have received this program already by e-mail.
- Review of Tasks after the Last Meeting
Coordinator Barbara Wiesen gives a more detailed introduction to the agenda for the first meeting day.
Polish partner prepared and presented the meeting report from the Latvia meeting in January 2014. All KEY persons signed one copy.
The tasks of the project for the meeting in Cyprus were reminded.
The submission term of the interim report was discussed.
During this meeting in Nicosia the following tasks were assigned to the partner countries:
R-T Rep: Meeting Reporter - Latvia
SAT-D Rep : Synthesizer – Poland
- Presentations of Paper B for Case studies presented by Cyprus and Italy in Latvia
Possible solutions for Paper A cases presented by Cyprus and Italy in Latvia were presented by each partner. The presentations were short (just 5 min.) they included Power Point presentations, some partners offered demonstrations of playful activities, Daniel Oddie (Belgium) demonstrated a short movie on senior training.
Presentations shall be uploaded to the webpage of the project.
- Project and Partnership Evaluation
Daniel Oddie presents the evaluation results of the meeting held in Latvia, in January 2014. All partners have evaluated it and sent their answers.
- Communication Base
Paula Silva, the Portuguese partner demonstrates the content of Google drive, materials uploaded and missing. Any problems regarding uploading the materials on the Google Drive are discussed, if some information about the project appears in our local periodicals, it should be scanned and uploaded. Daniel suggests simplifying and making more precise the titles used for files and documents. Barbara Wiesen suggests uploading descriptions of the playful activities in the Google Drive.
- Webpage
It is noted that in general Spanish partner and Antonio López Blanes have done a great job.
Spanish partners demonstrate the project webpage http://www.proyectosupua.es/thinktank/.
All partners have uploaded the descriptions and logo of their organizations in their national language. Partners are asked to review the information to avoid any mistakes. In case of mistakes inform Antonio López Blanes. Each partner should insert information about the project and link to our project website in the websites of their organizations. When information about the project is uploaded in the website of the organization, the link to the article should be sent to Antonio López Blanes, so that he could add it to the project website.
We ask Antonio to connect the Original Project Papers with the short summery about the cases. For ex. With an undertitle.
- Syllabus
Syllabus consists of three documents - Papers A and B, and Synopsis. The suggestion is to change the title Paper C and further call it Synopsis without adding letter C”. As a result of brainstorming it is decided that further on there will not be Paper C but – Synopsis. The presentation in the SYLLABUS should be chronological: 1xPaper A, 1xSynopsis, 8xPaper B
The question is raised on how to show these Papers and Synopsis in the website. The decision is taken to put them all under Case Study. Spanish partner shall make the necessary adjustments. It is noted that in general Spanish partner and Antonio López Blanes have done a great job. The idea is to introduce a certain colour for each partner. All the project partners agree to this idea, the selected colors are as follows: Turkey- light brown; Italy-green, Belgium – pink, Spain - red, Luxembourg -turquoise, Cyprus – yellow, Poland – violet, Portugal – marine blue, Latvia –orange. It is specified that the template of case studies will not be changed; only the color will be added. The templates for each country will be complemented with the chosen colour by the end of July.
All partners have to use these new templates for their Paper A and Paper B-Solutions. Also for the cases that are already presented.
Activities in the afternoon
Visit to Nicosia primary school where different playful activities are organized in the afternoons and evenings. We took part in a game organized in teams, then listened to a Greek song accompanied on a guitar. A Greek national dance class was enjoyed by all the project partners. Project participants showed great activity.
Second day – Friday 23th May 2014
- Presentations of Paper B for Spanish Case Study
The presentations were given by all partners except Spanish partners.
Partners gave Power Point presentations, the Turkish partners showed a national game played in their country. All partners uploaded their presentations.
- New case from Latvia
The problem brought forward by Latvian partners concerns employed people of pre-retirement age, their struggle to stay on the labour market and at the same time retain physical, professional and emotional well-being.
- Brainstorming –round table
Every partner expresses its point of view regarding the problem, the common conclusion is – the case is not simple and is faced by all partner countries.
- New case study Luxembourg
Partners from Luxembourg presented their case study, which was about the improvement of communication and collaboration possibilities between Club Senior Nordstad and other senior clubs in the area. As they are quite passive and not willing to collaborate.
- Brainstorming –round table
Project participants had a lot of good ideas, one of the first ideas was expressed by Portuguese partner i.e. to organize common festivals, Latvian partner suggested involvement of the club members in a common project, to share experience and interests. Representatives from Turkey advised printing and disseminating brochures. Belgium partner proposed the idea on applying team games, and organizing tournaments.
- Intermediary Report for National Agency
Barbara Wiesen- Pankratz shortly describes the requirements for the intermediary report – its outline, content and deadline for its submission. The deadline for submission of the interim report to National Agencies is 30th June.
Partners from Belgium agreed with partners from Portugal that until June 15 they will send a joint interim report text in English.
- Information about the Next Meeting in Italy
After the meeting the partners went to Nicosia City Council where they were given a warm welcome by the deputy Mayor of the Cypriot capital – Nicosia, Ms Eleni Loukaidou. The project partners were briefly introduced to the history of Cyprus and Nicosia, the economic situation.
A guided tour through the old town of Nicosia, the guide told a lot of interesting things about the buildings, history and traditions. We learned a lot about the last divided capital of Europe.
