After 2 days of intense and fruitful work the partners from Spain, Poland and Iceland managed to prepare the first draft of the publication, which is going to present a wide spectrum of recommendations, guidelines and materials helpful in organizing support for people aged 50+, to ensure them further self-development, active presence in the labour market and effective preparation to retirement.
Yesterday, Concepción Bru Ronda, Director of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante, developed a new session of the awareness campaign with members of the institution that belong to different groups: teaching staff, administration staff, trade unions representatives and experts in order to present the BALL project results and to receive the input and suggestions from participants with the aim to implement and transfer to society the research results. The awareness campaign is part of the Ball Project Action Plan.
Last 20th November 2015 the conference of mid-term dissemination of the results and progress of the BALL project took place in Alicante. The Director of the Permanent University and Coordinator of the BALL Project, Concha Bru, presented the project to the attendees, as well as the materials implemented during the research process carried out throughout the first year.
On 27th November 2015 a conference entitled: “Add Life to Age- Go Actively into Retirement” was organized by the Lublin University of the Third Age within the frames of the BALL Erasmus+ Project. Preparation to retirement must be accompanied, on the one hand, by social support, and on the other hand, by a look into one’s self, as everyone has the right and obligation to decide about the later part of life. Research carried out during the first year of the BALL project provided interesting information on the readiness of individuals to prepare to retirement and to lead an active life. A sociologist, Monika Adamczyk, Ph.D., elaborated on the awareness of this problem in Polish society in the light of the research conducted during the BALL mapping and survey. The participants of the conference were handed a book she wrote on those issues “Go Actively into Retirement”.
